Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

Just returned the book to the library, couldn't stop crying. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy was a witty and excellent insight on what goes on in the far and distant reaches of space and telling us the "real" meaning of life, 42. Arthur is just your regular British man, but his best friend, Ford Perfect, is not. As the Earth is about to be demolished for an intergalactic highway, Ford takes Arthur onto one of the ships and this starts their hitchhiking adventure around the galaxy to complete the greatest book ever thought up, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. This book is a great read and I recommend it to all readers, human or not.
