Jailbird by Kurt Vonnegut 2

Jailbird was an excellent book. I was very surprised to see how great this book was. So far one of my favorite Kurt Vonnegut Jr. books, for right now. Ill be doing my book talk today about this book and I am very excited. I hope my peers in my English class try out a Kurt Vonnegut Jr. book. His books are great and funny, and the best part is that you can never put it down. I look foreword to reading more but I don't want to say anything about my book before I can tell my classmates all about it. Looking foreword to next time.

Jailbird By Kurt Vonnegut

This is like my one-thousandth Kurt Vonnegut book but I plan to keep on reading them. This story so far is about a young buy,Starbuck, who works for a Cleavland millionaire, Alexander Hamilton McCone, who happens to be the nicest member of the McCone family. He tries to help Starbuck and his family every way he can. He plans to send Starbuck to Harvard, where Starbuck is eventually accepted.
He then meets a Jewish woman who survived a concentration camp, who inspires him to go into politics to try and help people. He begins his work in the Nixon Administration, around the time of the Watergate scandal, which ends him up in jail.

Welcome to the Monkey House by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

I am now reading my third Kurt Vonnegut Jr. book, Welcome to the Monkey House. This book is different yet again from all the other books I have read so far by this author. This is a collection of short stories that he wrote many yeas ago, put into a book. So far I have read seven of his short stories, each one has its own unique plot in its own special world, unheard of by mankind. I really enjoy the writings of Kurt Vonnegut Jr. and i cant wait to read more of the short stories and even more of his books.

Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. 2

I have never enjoyed a book as much as I enjoy this one. I am left speechless after I read chapter after chapter. I love the writings of Kurt Vonnegut Jr. and I believe this is one of his best works yet. I like the pictures and I enjoy the story even more. The picture is this book are funny and very unexpected. The story is one of the greatest stories I have ever read. I always look forward to reading this book and hope I can find more like it. I like to read more and more about all of the characters in the book. They each have there own individual personalities. The characters are very interesting, in the way that they all have problems and Vonnegut likes to show that. It seems to be the point of this book. Exploiting all of the problems in the human race. I still wonder if the character, Kilgore Trout, represents Vonnegut. Trout is a book write who is still undiscovered and he writes crazy stories. It is strange. Very strange.

Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut

I have already read one book by Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughter House 5, and i loved it. I really enjoy reading his books. In this book, I noticed that he brings back a familiar character, Kilgore Trout,but instead of being a weird side character, he is now the main character. I also enjoy looking at all of the picture Vonnegut drew in his book to help illustrate his point. I really like this book so far and look forward to reading it in the near future.

Slaughter-House Five bu Kurt Vonnegut

I have fallen in love with this book. It gives insight on all the negatives of war, and as the little bird said, "Poo-tee-weet", only showing that there is nothing good to say about war. Each paragraph of this book are different moments of time. According to the main character, Billy Pilgrim, who by the way is also the narrator, all of life is based on time, but in the fourth dimension, according to the Tralfamadorians or aliens, is where time flows continuously, repeatedly, and backwards, all at the same time. The Tralfamadorians also speak ofwhat we know as free will. To them this idea does not exist but it is a force that counters our free will when we want to getsomething done.
One othe the true themes of this book is death. Death is in every point in this book and is even announed by when Pilgrim says, "So it goes", to all mentions, thus making them equal. This pointsout howinevitable death is but only the Tralfamadorians are theonly ones who can make it sound good, "You can die at any moment, but you are aliove for allother moments of your life".

First Quarter Look Back

After reading over my blogs for the first quarter I realized that i really enjoy books, even if it takes me a while to read them. I personally like reading adventure books about outlandish place and people but for the first quarter, to get them out of the way, I read books that I really do enjoy reading that much but interest me in a way. Now-a-days i don't get to read as much as I used to because I am always studying and doing my school work, but as the day goes on I find myself reading a little bit each day. I have started to look at the bigger picture of the books i read and that is a good improvement. My reading goal for this next quarter is to read at least three (3) books. I really want to get back into reading again and I hope this goal helps.
